With our latest releases of Multiframe 14 and Maxsurf 17 we made some
important changes to our network dongle codes that require you to
upgrade the programming on your your network dongle.
The upgrade
procedure is pretty simple, though it does require you to have installed
our latest software on your server on your server to complete the
process.
This doesn't impact older versions of our products or
prevent them from running so don't fear on that account - your other
users on the network can continue using earlier versions without an
issue.
The upgrade procedure is as follows:
1) Run our latest installer on your server machine, and ensure when you do so that the following options are selected.
* Copy Protection Device is connected to 'This Computer'
* Copy Protection Device Type is 'Network'
* Dongle type is 'Hasp Driver' or 'Sentinel Driver' as appropriate for
your network dongle (SSN is Sentinel, all other types; NH, HL, NHHL are
Hasp).
Continue through our installer and select the products you
want. Note that for a server there's no need to actually install any
products - so you can untick them all if you wish.
If you get
prompted during setup to install the HASP License Manager and already
have this installed then you can safely press Cancel when prompted for
language and skip this step.
2) When the installer has
completed, locate the *.fds file that we sent you with our official
upgrade notification and double click on it. It should then prompt you
if you wish to update your network dongle - say Ok and continue for it
to reprogram your network dongle.
3) That's it. You can
immediately start using the new licenses and can now use the new
versions from now on. Note that this step will only need to be done
once for this major version, so once you're upgraded you won't need to
do it for any further updates.
